Ray Harker's Page

I am a Christian, a Conservative, and a Republican -- In that order. More specifically, I consider myself a "fusionist" - a fiscal libertarian, social conservative (values voter), and supportive of a strong military. Overall, my faith in Jesus Christ, and a reliance on the absolute truth found in Scriptures, defines and drives my politics and worldview.

My inspiration comes from great men such as our Founding Fathers (i.e. Patrick Henry and John Adams), William F. Buckley Jr., Ludwig von Mises, Dr. James Kennedy, and Francis Scheaffer -- as well as the heroes of the Bible (i.e. Joshua). My favorites for president in 2012, at this point, are Michelle Bauchmann and Rick Perry. 

Recently, I authored a book entitled God in Government: The Christian's Guide to Civic Responsibility and Political Ideology. It is available from most online booksellers, and Barnes & Noble. My website has links to some of these retailers.

Also, I have an organization, called God in Government, founded for the sole purpose of educating Christians (and others of good will) in the areas of political ideology, worldview, and civic responsibility. The idea for this outreach was inspired in part by Hosea 4:6 which says, "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." 

I am 51 years old, and was born, raised and live in the Hazleton area. I attended Temple University where I received a BA in Radio-Television-Film (RTF). Most of my life I've been in one type of a business or another - an entrepreneur to this day. I also currently serve as the Sugarloaf GOP Committeeman.
